Pumping 45% lime slurry from IBC containers with minimal wear

Low-wear dosing of abrasive 45% lime milk:
The FHP15 peristaltic pump is used to dose 45% lime milk from IBC containers into wastewater tanks for neutralization with minimal wear.

Medium

45 % lime milk

Container

1000 l IBC

Solution

Peristaltic pump FHP15

The Challenge

A 45% lime milk solution is used to neutralize wastewater and is transferred from IBC containers to storage tanks. Due to its abrasive properties, pumping this solution with conventional pumps results in high wear.

High abrasiveness

Lime milk causes severe wear on centrifugal pumps and significantly shortens their service life.

High maintenance costs

Wear and tear leads to frequent maintenance, replacement parts, and rising operating costs.

Process Interruptions

Maintenance and pump failures cause downtime in the neutralization process.

The solution:

Peristaltic pump FHP15

The FHP15 peristaltic pump conveys abrasive lime slurry without any rotating parts that come into contact with the medium. Conveyance is achieved by compressing the tube, which eliminates wear on seals. Since only the tube comes into contact with the medium, it can be replaced quickly. Its compact design allows for flexible use with different IBC containers.

Process Flow

Dosing lime milk from the IBC to the wastewater tank.

1. Position the pump on the IBC

The compact peristaltic pump is connected to the IBC container and prepared for the pumping process.

2. Start the grant

The motor drives the hose compression and keeps the lime slurry in constant motion.

3. Transport the medium

The lime slurry is conveyed via a flexible hose without coming into contact with any rotating parts.

4. Replace the hose if necessary

The hose that comes into contact with the fluid can be quickly replaced without having to disassemble the entire pump.

Easy replacement of the conveyor element

Since only the hose comes into contact with the lime slurry, it can be replaced quickly. Maintenance time is reduced, and the process remains operational.

Result

Significantly reduced wear when using abrasive lime slurry

Less maintenance and lower operating costs

Minimized Downtime in the Neutralization Process

Flexible use thanks to easy transfer between IBC containers
