Filters and Filter Housings

FLUX filters and filter housings remove organic and inorganic contaminants from aggressive and neutral liquids. They are suitable for depth and surface filtration in industrial processes.

SONCO filter technology, made of PP or PVDF, ensures safe filtration of acids, alkalis, chemicals, and corrosive media. The all-plastic design protects areas in contact with the product from metal contact.

Filter Units

Filter units made of PP or PVDF are suitable for cartridge, plate, and activated carbon filters, as well as oil absorbers. Depending on their size, they operate with 1 to 15 filter cartridges and achieve filtration rates of up to 45,000 l/h.

The flow-optimized design reduces pressure losses. A uniform flow distribution ensures even loading of the filter elements and supports a stable process.

Bag Filter Units

FGB bag filter units reliably filter larger particles from aggressive and neutral liquids. They are made of PP or PVDF and are designed for filter bags in sizes 04, 1, and 2.

The toggle closure facilitates access to the filter bag. This allows maintenance and bag changes to be efficiently integrated into plant operations.

MAGSON Magnetic Centrifugal Pumps

MAGSON magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps are designed for use with FLUX filter units. They pump chemical and corrosive liquids without leakage and without a dynamic shaft seal.

When combined with SONCO filter units, they form a coordinated system for filtration and fluid transfer.

Advantages

Complete splash protection

All SONCO filter chambers feature full splash protection. It also covers the area around the lid screws.

This protects operators in the event that fluid leaks out if the lid screws are not fully tightened.

Foldable Filter Lid

The filter cover is secured with fold-down screws and easy-grip knobs. When opened, the cover remains attached to the filter chamber.

This simplifies maintenance, filter replacement, and cleaning. The cover does not need to be set aside or lifted separately.

Flow-Optimized Fluid Guidance

The internal fluid flow path is designed to minimize pressure losses. The flow to the filter elements is as uniform as possible.

This promotes uniform loading of the filter elements and improves process stability.

Constant flow rate

Up to 300 m³/h – flow rate independent of viscosity and solids content, precisely controllable via a variable-frequency drive.

Standard Process Control

Filter chambers starting with size 3 are equipped with a pressure gauge and a drain valve as standard. For size 1, this equipment is available as an option.

The pressure can be monitored directly at the filter. This makes it easier to monitor the filter’s loading, determine when maintenance is due, and assess the process status.

All-plastic version made of PP or PVDF

Areas that come into contact with the product are metal-free. The sturdy welded construction consists of semi-finished products that contain no glass fiber.

This ensures chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, and corrosive liquids.

SONCO Filtration Technology for Clean Processes

SONCO filter chambers, filter units, and filter systems are designed for demanding industrial applications. The PP or PVDF construction offers high chemical resistance to aggressive media.

FLUX filters remove contaminants from liquids through depth or surface filtration. They are used wherever process media must remain clean, equipment must be protected, and results must be reproducible.

Typical applications include electroplating, surface treatment, the chemical industry, water treatment, and plant engineering.

Advantages:

  • Suitable for aggressive and neutral liquids
  • Product-contacting areas made entirely of plastic
  • Sizes available for different flow rates
  • Can be combined with MAGSON MA centrifugal pumps
  • Designed for continuous industrial processes

Filter Technology for Corrosive and Neutral Media

FLUX filters and filter housings are used in processes where liquids must be conveyed cleanly and safely. They remove particles, residues, and contaminants from process media.

Thanks to their PP and PVDF materials, SONCO filters are particularly well-suited for chemically demanding applications.

Typical applications:

  • Electroplating
  • Etching and cleaning systems
  • Wastewater and water treatment
  • Surface engineering
  • Chemical industry
  • Solar and Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing
  • Textile industry
  • Food Industry
  • Plant engineering

Media Examples

Knowledge and Technology

FLUX filters are used to remove organic and inorganic contaminants. Depending on the process, either depth filtration or surface filtration is used. In depth filtration, particles are trapped within the filter medium. This type of filtration is suitable for fine contaminants and higher dirt-holding capacities. In surface filtration, particles remain on the surface of the filter medium. This method is particularly suitable for defined particle sizes and clear separation limits. The selection of the filter cartridge depends on the medium, particle load, filter fineness, and flow rate.

Filter unit, filter cartridge, and pump as a coordinated system

A filter operates reliably only when all components are suited to the process. These include material, filter cartridge, flow rate, pressure drop, and pump capacity.

FLUX combines SONCO filter units with matching filter elements and MAGSON MA magnetic-coupled centrifugal pumps. This creates a system tailored to the medium, installation conditions, and process requirements.

The modular design simplifies sizing. Filter units are available in several sizes. Depending on the application, cartridge filters, plate filters, activated carbon filters, oil absorbers, or filter bags can be used.

Relevant selection criteria:

  • chemical resistance of the material
  • required flow rate
  • Desired filter fineness
  • Type and amount of contamination
  • Available installation space
  • Suitable MAGSON MA assembly
  • Maintenance access and operating concept
