The Challenge

High-viscosity petroleum jelly must be metered from 200-liter drums over a long conveying distance into a mixing tank. High viscosity and line pressure make it difficult to maintain a stable process.

High viscosity

Vaseline is not a free-flowing substance and creates high flow resistance in the system.

Long conveyor route

A 14-meter line increases back pressure and makes dosing more difficult.

A pressure increase when the outlet is closed requires a safe shutdown.

VISCOFLUX mobile S: mobile Drum Emptying System

The VISCOFLUX mobile S empties high-viscosity petroleum jelly from 200-liter drums and conveys it through a heated line into the mixing tank. The F 560 S progressive cavity pump ensures consistent dosing despite high viscosity. A pressure switch monitors the process and automatically shuts off the pump when pressure rises.

Process Flow

From the keg to controlled dispensing in four steps.

1. Position the system on the barrel

The VISCOFLUX mobile S is driven up to the drum and placed on top of it.

2. Start the grant

The eccentric screw pump conveys the petroleum jelly through the heated pipeline.

3. Reduce viscosity

Heating the pipe lowers the viscosity and reduces the back pressure. 

4. Control the dosage

A ball valve controls the flow, and a pressure switch automatically stops and starts the pump.

Reliable pressure monitoring

The pressure switch continuously monitors the system pressure. When the ball valve closes, the pump stops automatically and restarts when it opens. This enables controlled and safe dosing.
