The Challenge

Ethanol must be safely transferred from IBCs and drums into smaller containers in a way that prevents explosion hazards and ensures precise quantities, while minimizing residual amounts.

Risk of Explosion

Ethanol is flammable and requires a fully explosion-proof pumping and metering solution.

Conventional emptying leaves behind product residue and increases cleaning and disposal costs.

Manual filling makes it difficult to achieve precise volume control and reproducible processes.

The solution:

FP 425 Ex S drum pump for 99.98% drum emptying

The FP 425 Ex S drum pump, made of stainless steel, enables nearly complete emptying of ethanol from drums and IBCs. An integrated backflow preventer prevents the medium from flowing back. In combination with the FMC 100 flow meter and FLUXTRONIC®, the fill volume is precisely measured and automatically dispensed.

Filling Process

From pump activation to automatic dosing.

1. Place the pump in the container

The drum pump is placed inside the IBC or drum and prepared for pumping.

2. Start the grant

The motor drives the pump, which continuously draws ethanol from the tank.

3. Measure and set the quantity

The flow meter measures the flow rate and allows for precise presetting.

4. Automatic filling

The desired amount is dispensed at the push of a button, after which the pump stops automatically.

Precise dosing at the push of a button

The combination of a flow meter and a switching amplifier allows for precise presetting of the fill volume. Once the target volume is reached, the pump stops automatically and the process starts again.
