The Challenge

Acidic and alkaline cleaners are transferred from IBCs into retail containers. Until now, this has been done by tilting the containers and allowing the liquid to flow out freely — resulting in imprecise dosing and high residual volumes.

Large remaining quantities

When emptying the container, large amounts of the medium remain inside—resulting in an economic loss and additional work.

Quantities are determined using scales—a time-consuming process that is not integrated into the production line.

The solution:

Filling system with F 425 S drum pump

A semi-automatic filling system consisting of the F 425 S drum pump, FMC flow meter, FLUXTRONIC®, control amplifier, and FAE filling unit enables preset, reproducible filling. The desired quantity is dispensed at the push of a button, and the pump stops automatically. The integrated backflow preventer prevents residual flow and enables the drum to be emptied almost completely.

Process flow

From presetting to automatic shutdown.

1. Set the fill volume

The desired filling quantity is defined in advance in the control system.

2. Start filling

The filling process is started with the push of a button.

3. Automatically measure out the quantity

The system dispenses exactly the set amount using flow measurement.

4. Stop the pump automatically

Once the target volume is reached, the barrel pump shuts off automatically.

5. Repeat batch operation

Preset quantities can be automatically dispensed multiple times in a row.

Clean drum change without leakage

The integrated backflow preventer prevents the medium from leaking out when the pump is removed. This keeps the work area clean and safe.
