Task
Pump out or transfer hazardous substances—such as highly flammable materials, acids, or alkalis—from damaged vehicles or containers in order to secure the scene and carry out recovery operations safely.
Requirements
- Safe Handling of Hazardous Substances
- Suitable for flammable and toxic substances
- Can be used in hazardous areas
- Flexible for various containers
Solution in Detail
Use of an explosion-proof FP 425 Ex drum pump with backflow prevention, as well as FDM compressed-air diaphragm pumps for various media and flow rates in hazardous-materials applications.
Result
The FP 425 Ex drum pump meets the requirements of DIN 14555-12 and is equipped with a DN 50 tanker truck coupling and a foot strainer. An integrated adjustment mechanism prevents the medium from flowing back through the hose after emptying.
