Functional Description of Compressed Air Diaphragm Pumps

The RFM/RFML, FDM, and FDMH compressed air diaphragm pumps are oscillating positive displacement pumps.

RFM/RFML 10, 15, 25, 40; FDM 07, 10, 12, 25, 50, 80; FDMH 25

The RFM/RFML 10, 15, 25, 40 and FDM 07, 10, 12, 25, 50, 80, and FDMH 25 are oscillating positive-displacement pumps consisting of two pump housings and a control housing. The two pump housings contain vertically mounted diaphragms that are centrally connected to a shaft. This causes the two diaphragms to move in unison.

Via the compressed-air-regulated control unit, the shaft ensures that the two inner diaphragm chambers are simultaneously filled and vented. When air is forced into one of the chambers, the diaphragm is pushed outward horizontally.

The connecting shaft pulls the other diaphragm inward, causing the medium to be drawn in. Once the suction process is complete, the shaft reverses direction, and the process described above is carried out in reverse.
