Reliably pumping Abrasive Slurries and Wastewater

In water and wastewater treatment, abrasive slurries as well as wastewater and process water must be reliably pumped out of containers and tanks. Media containing particles place special demands on wear resistance and operational reliability.

Solution:
RFM 25 and
RFM 40 air-operated diaphragm pumps with flap valves

Task

Pump out abrasive slurries as well as wastewater, dirty water, and process water from wastewater tanks, storage tanks, and holding tanks. The fluids contain solids such as sand and must be conveyed reliably and with minimal wear.

Requirements
  • Conveying abrasive media containing particles
  • Reliable operation without downtime
  • Low wear due to the conveying principle
Solution Details

The RFM 25 and RFM 40 air-operated diaphragm pumps with flap valves handle abrasive slurries and wastewater. The design, which has no rotating parts, reduces friction and wear. Flow rate and performance are controlled via the air supply.

Non-rotating pumping principle

The pumps operate without rotating parts. This results in minimal friction between the fluid and the components. Especially with abrasive fluids such as sandy slurries, this significantly reduces wear and extends service life.

Result

Reliable sludge pumping, even with a high solids content

Reduced wear due to the absence of rotating parts

High operational reliability thanks to automatic restart

Flow capacity up to 8 bar with a compact design

Quiet operation thanks to built-in silencers
