In pharmaceutical production, various fats must be accurately conveyed from softback containers and feed tanks to filling systems. This requires consistent flow rates and precise dosing at temperatures up to 60 °C.

Task

Convey various fats in classes 1 through 3 at temperatures up to 60 °C from softback containers and feed tanks and feed them into a filling system. The media cover a wide viscosity range and must be dosed continuously and precisely.

  • Throughput: at least 15 kg/min 
Solution in Detail

The F 560 TR FOOD progressive cavity pump is installed in a dry-mounted configuration at the outlet of the Softback. It draws in the fat and conveys it through a hose to the filling line. Control and monitoring are handled by FLUXTRONIC®, a pressure switch, and an optional flow meter.

Pumping without immersion

Dry installation allows for pumping from closed soft-sided containers without direct contact between the pump and the medium. The pressure switch monitors the system pressure and stops the pump when the filling point is closed. The FMO flow meter can be used to preset the target volume and automate the filling process.
