In chemical production, freshly manufactured, high-viscosity media such as silicone pastes must be filled from closed mixing tanks into 25-kg buckets. Access from above is not possible.

Task

Fill various high-viscosity silicone pastes from mixing tanks that are not accessible from above into 25-kg buckets. The pastes have different viscosities and must be conveyed continuously and gently. Conveyance takes place via the bottom outlet.

Solution in Detail

A VISCOPOWER TR industrial progressive cavity pump is installed on a console next to the tank and connected to the bottom outlet. A variable-speed three-phase motor allows for adaptation to different viscosities and ensures uniform flow.

Result

Feeding at the bottom outlet 

The pump is positioned outside the mixing tank and connected directly to the bottom outlet. An integrated mixer in the tank keeps the silicone paste in motion and ensures a steady flow without the need for additional forced feeding.
